Trying to Finish of Some 2013 Sets

I got into the collecting world so late in 2013 that I am still trying to finish up a few sets from last year. Thanks to generous trading partners, I have been able to get a large chunk of my needs but there is still some more work to do. These are the sets I am closest to finishing. If anybody can help me out with any of these cards just leave a comment with what you have so other readers know. I will be giving out CC Points for any help, and will keep in mind your generosity for future trades.

Trade with Cards on Cards: Helping Out With Set Needs

I completed my first trade with Kerry of the blog Cards on Cards. We agreed on a deal last week, and my cards came in a few days ago.

Kerry helped me out with set needs from 2013 and 2014. Included was this great looking Harper. Harper is primed to have a big year in for his fantasy owners, myself included, in fact Harper may help me win big over at FanDuel this season.

I was also able to get a little closer to completing my 2013 Topps Heritage set, and this card grabbed my attention. 

This would be a great addition to my Pimping Dingers binder, but it is going into the set instead.

2014 Series One Dodger Parallel Needs

I have mentioned what my plans for flagship in 2014, though it was scattered into a few different posts. I will try and make those ideas a little more organized here.

I will keep this list updated, and add a link to this post on my Set Needs page.

I plan on going after every parallel I discuss below from Series 1 and 2, as well as Update Series. I am not as concerned about completing the yellow and green parallels, but if you have any Dodgers I'll take them off your hands.

Trade with Cubs Cardboard: More Walmart Blues and Set Needs

I completed my first trade with Kalib of Cubs Cardboard yesterday. I messaged him about a Walmart blue parallel he had, and we went from there. If you haven't check put his blog yet be sure to do so. 

Let's start with some 2014 Blue parallels. I have decided to complete the team set with the blue, red, red hot foil, and gold parallels. I may later choose to go after the green and yellow parallels, but they are a little harder to find right now. With the addition of these two, I have 4/13 blue parallels.

In addition to the 2014 blues, I got a couple of 2013 blues. I plan on putting together the entire 2013 team set with the blue parallels, but I don't have the checklist handy. I'll probably be adding it to my Set Needs page sometime in the next few days, so any help there is appreciated. I only have 5 of the 36 cards for 2013.

It seems like I am able to add another card or two to one of my PC's everyday. Today was no exception, as Kalib threw in these great Gonzo cards. I really dig the UD Icons card on the left, though some Dodgers garb would look nice. The uni UD chose for this cards works well with the color scheme of the card though, seemingly perfect. 

Buried beneath a barrage of set needs, I found this great Shawn Green UD card from 1992. I have a copy of this card already, but I had it autographed my the man himself. You can see that card below. 

I do find his auto to be a little strange. His auto is completely different these days, though I did find a few cards with the same auto for sale on eBay. 

I also got my first blue bordered Dodger from a trade. I have a few stacked up to show off this weekend, but we'll wait for the weekend before I discuss those.

My favorite card from the trade is this beauty. It features four of the best outfielders in the league, though the two guys on the bottom did not play a whole lot last year. I believe this is a four part sticker, with each player being a single sticker. I wish Topps more cards like this. 

In addition to the cards seen above, Kalib sent a ton of needs from 2014 S1 and 2013 Bowman, as well as a few other misc. Dodgers.

Trade With Big 44 Sports Cards: Camo Beltre, Set Needs and More

2013 Topps Chrome #122, #'d 3/15

I was targeting the above card when I contacted Nate who runs another great card blog, Big 44 Sports Cards. Nate is a big Pirates fan and I had quite a few Pirates laying around. You can see what I sent him here. We worked out a deal through email and my end of the deal arrived today. 

As I have mentioned before I am a big fan of Beltre. Although he hasn't done time with the boys in blue since '04, he is one of the best players to come through their system in the past 20 years. Beltre plays for the Rangers now and seems to have a pretty cool relationship with Elvis Andrus. I was pretty psyched when I saw this in Nate's trade bait and I made sure we got the deal done. It is the camo parallel #'d 3/15. I am currently deciding whether or not to pursue the Beltre rainbow, especially considering my rather zealous attempt creating a 2013 Topps Chrome Dodgers Rainbow. 

Nate also threw in a few awesome Dodgers. Both are new additions to my respective PC's, and are greatly appreciated.

Nate also helped out a ton with some of my set needs from Series 2 and Chrome. Both are very close to being completed, and I have some more sorting and more set needs that will be posted eventually.

Trade with My Cardboard Habit: Judson Drops Some Beltre Bombs & Helps With My Set Needs

I completed my first overall trade with Judson of My Cardboard Habit. I approached Judson about a few of the Bryce Harper cards I had laying around. After a few emails back and forth, I got my care package in the mail today. 

Judson came through in a big way. I've been dying to add some Beltre hits to my PC, and these two beauties will hold me over for a while. Both come from 2013 Topps Tribute, and both are #'d /25. 

Judson also included a HUGE number of 2013 Heritage and 2013 Topps Chrome cards to help out my set needs. I will highlight another trade tomorrow in which I received a lot of my 2013 Heritage needs. So my set needs should be updated sometime in the next few days. He also helped out with my Topps Series 1&2 mini needs, which should be updated shortly.
