Matt Kemp was a Rookie Sensation + New Trade Bait

I recently completed a trade with Kyle of Beware the Hockey Card Closet. He had some Chavez Code points remaining and decided to cash them in.

In return for some cards I sent his way, Kyle sent me this sweet rookie card of Matty Ice. It is a new addition to my Matt Kemp PC, which now sits at 166 cards. That sounds pretty good, but hopefully I can reach 200 by the end of the year.

Kyle and I actually swapped some hits. He took a few of my relic, #'d, and auto cards and I received a few back to reload on my trade bait. Included was this relic of ex-Dodger, Brad Penny. Penny pitched pretty well for the Dodger  for a few years ago, but I never really became a big fan of his. I know it's a Dodger, but it is headed to my trade bait.

I decided not to scan every card that Kyle sent my way, primarily to force you to check out my Trade Bait page. I did decide to scan this card though, mainly because I forgot that Soriano ever played for the Rangers. This probably would have been quite the hot ticket item ten years ago, but not so much anymore.

Thanks again for the awesome cards Kyle!

Trade Bait Tuesday

Once again, here are some cards available for trade. In the time I scanned these cards and uploaded this post, the Buster Posey and Troy Tulowitzki cards have already been packaged up for somebody else. Leave a comment or shoot me an email if you're interested.

Editors Note: This post comes from Dikran Samarjian. He will occasionally have posts here. As you may know, Dikran and I usually split the price of higher end cards to share, at least until we are out of college and can actually earn some money. If you would like to get in touch with him, you can give him a follow on Twitter @D_Samarjian. Any comments you leave will be forwarded to him as well. Enjoy!

The other day I had the itch to crack some wax. I was far away from our local shop, so I settled for the closest Target. I was planning on just grabbing a blaster box, but that notion soon changed when I saw a hobby box of 2009 Upper Deck Signature Stars tossed in the corner of the card section. At first I was skeptical because I've only bought this product one time before and I had some major mojo pulling a Bryce Harper patch auto. I was thinking, “What are the odds of pulling something great again, especially from Target.” I called Alex to see what his thoughts on buying this were and he told me to just go for it. So I went for it.

If you’re not familiar with the product, each box comes with 4 hits (2 autos and 2 patches). The first 3 packs I opened were 2 patches and 1 auto, all duds at that. At this point I was pretty upset because the first 3 packs contained 3 dud hits. The 5th pack I opened, I got my 4th hit. The second I saw it I jumped out of my chair. In that pack was a /99 Ken Griffey Jr. auto. I was so excited I didn't even care about the rest of the box. Good thing I opened the rest though because come to find out it was a hot box. Though duds, I ending up pulling one more patch and a patch auto.

Without further adieu, enjoy the dud hits! (All are for trade)

Trade Bait Tuesday

I've been going through my cards and need to get more organized. I have a ton of cards I'd love to trade, but keeping track of them is difficult sometimes. So, I have decided to create Trade Bait Tuesday. I will post a scan with a page full of cards for trade. If you are interested in any of the cards just let me know in the comment section. Expect this every Tuesday and some Thursdays.
